Pix-celona was a winner project of Creative Ring Challenge 2016 Barcelona. We designed, developed and produced a collaborative simultaneous quiz game at three different locations during La Mercé festivities in Barcelona. Thousands of locals from all ages played the game directly via website with their smartphones, without downloading any app. Questions about the city were showed at the same time in all three spots (Parc Ciutadella, CCCB and Fabra i Coats) with giant LED screens, while users had a limited time to submit their votes. Each clan picked answers by majority of respective votes and scores were compared in real time. After four days of battle between these neighbourhoods, one dragon became the wisest of the city.
Local station BTV broadcasted a live show in prime time of one hour of contest.
This project was developed thanks to the grants from the CreatiFI, a FiWARE Technology related program, funded by the UE.
